2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Application (Up to $5,000.00)

ABOUT 

The Lee County Charitable Fund is a volunteer grant committee made up of board members from North Lee Community Foundation and the Keokuk Area Community Foundation. The Keokuk Area Community Foundation holds the Lee County Charitable Fund Endowment in trust, which in turn provides funding for The Lee County Charitable Fund.  


GUIDELINES

The Lee County Charitable Fund makes grants only to Lee County 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations, and qualified governmental, educational, and religious agencies. Grants are not awarded in the following areas: annual fund raising, organizational endowment funds, deficit financing, grants to individuals, or for sectarian purposes. This year, grants are available up to $5,000.00. Only one project per organization will be considered. 


ONLINE APPLICATION

The 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Application is exclusively online. BEFORE YOU START THE APPLICATION, CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PREVIEW APPLICATION.  Once an applicant starts a 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Application, they cannot save an application, if it is not completed. Once the grant application has been completed, a copy of the application will be sent to the applicant. 


GRANT REPORT

The Lee County Charitable Fund requires a completed grant report after a grant award period has been completed. The deadline to submit 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Reports is April 12, 2023. If your organization received a grant from the Lee County Charitable Fund in 2022, the 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Report is due on April 12, 2023. The failure to file a grant report may prevent consideration of future grants to any such recipient. The 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Report Form can be downloaded by visiting leecountycharitablefund.org. The 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Report must be on file prior to submitting a new grant application. 


IRS DETERMINATION 

In the online application, please attach one (1) copy of the grant applicant’s up-to-date IRS Determination Letter establishing that the applicant is a 501 (c) (3) organization or a notarized form demonstrating that the organization is a qualified exempt government agency of Lee County Iowa.  If the organization receives a grant, the address listed on the IRS 501 (c) (3) Determination Letter will be used in the payment (please make sure the contact information of your organization's IRS 501 (c) (3) Determination Letter is up to date).


DEADLINE

All 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Applications and accompanying materials are due on or before July 6, 2022. All 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Applications will be processed in the Summer of 2022. All 2022 Lee County Charitable Fund Grant Recipients will initially be notified by July 2022.
